EXPERIENCING A STAGE SHOW IN THE GHETTO

BLACK AM I – MILITARY MAN BASH FEBRUARY 28 2014

SHERKHANSLAIR CROWD2

This show took place in Tavern community, at the foot of the hills along the Hope river like Kentyre, Papine and August town. This show was powered by King Tafari Sound-system, Judgment yard and Sizzla. That night Sizzla was an engineer, he did the instruments sound check, he was a patron and delivered an impressive performance on stage as an artist.

“Black Am I” show was full of artists, from upcoming one such as Exile the Brave, Likkle Briggie, the Japanese Ackee & Saltfish to the “big” artists : Capleton, I Wayne, Bushman, Ninjaman …

At the end of the film, it is not just a “Battery low” effect, it’s also true, all my clips (batteries) went empty on that whole night of performances and backstage moments. The BEST part of this show is missing ! So let me tell you a bit about it.

SHERKHANSLAIR CROWD

After Sizzla “bun” police and soldiers in front of the blue light flashing, two policemen came on stage to stop the show (4AM). The policemen looking bad doing their job in front of the pretty girls and the people of the community that they also might know, told Sizzla: “One more riddim and that’s it !”. Sizzla as a “bad pickeney” to the Ruff cut band: “Don’t stop the riddim yuh know !” playing with the policeman’s words, the DJ delivered 7 songs on this same riddim ! But at one point the band stops, so Sizzla started to beat a “One-two” with his foot and the people followed him and beat the stage with hands and bottles, singing “Hear the words of the Rastaman say Babylon, you throne gone down, gone down Babylon, you throne gone down” What a moment !

SHERKHANSLAIR SIZZLA

Raatid and Magic film got that for you, enjoy ! Full screen is a mus’ !

SIZZLA, THE ABC CLUB (AUGUST TOWN BICYCLE CLUB)

Sizzla always takes dynamic initiative for young people in his neighborhood.

This time he prepares a bicycle race.
With the creation of the ABC club, there are now dozens of BMX bikes in Judgement Yard.
This race should consist of a loop in the streets of August town. 5 runners for each race, each winner will get a prize.
Pending the event, here is the logo of the club created by yours truly.

Here’s a medley of more than a year compiled for you: the first season. The fact that you like this series is our reward. Thank you for sharing!
